Before you install the gravel it is a good idea to put down a weed barrier of some sortold newspaper works great for thisjust put it over the whole path area in a layer two or three sheets thick. Next evenly distribute the pea gravel over the entire area of your path and rake it out smooth filling the path back up to ground level. With your gravel now in place its time to start placing your stepping stones. There are many choices for stones. You can choose from a variety of manmade products or use natural flagstone.
The possibilities are endless so have fun choosing your garden statues and finding the best place for them in your lawn and garden. Stepping stones are another great way to add a personal touch to your backyard. You can use them functionally as actual paths to walk on or you can use them to purely decorate an area that may be difficult to do anything else with. Garden stones are great because they are so easy to decorate with; you just place them where you want them and thats it youre done. You can put stepping stones right in the grass to make a path or in an already landscaped area of rock or wood chips. Either way stepping stones are surely easy to deal with.
You cannot do this with ones made of cement as they are usually permanently installed on the ground. With the rubbers you can arrange the space between one to another based on the length of your kids steps. When they have grown up and the steps become longer you can rearrange this. Rubber stepping stones also come in many models and colors. The diameter is usually about 30 centimeters or more and the thickness is about 3 cm. Each package usually contains of three pieces so you can freely decide how you will arrange the stones. With your own creativity you can combine several patterns to get more dynamic look. Then see your guests like it.
