When choosing stepping stones for the sole purpose of walking on from a day to day basis then you might want to choose stepping stones that are smoother on the surface than the pretty textured and painted ones to avoid damaging them. Incorporating stepping stones with garden statues in your backyard is easy and easy to maintain. No watering no staining no maintenance. Once the stepping stones and garden statues are in their places youre done. You can now enjoy the beautifully landscaped garden you have always wanted for little or no upkeep at all.
The first option can be used to enhance an old fence added to the outside of your house or even as a free standing piece of artwork. Here is where it gets fun and creative you can make anything that you love. I personally love flowers and on my deck is a flower garden with some of them as tall as seven feet. I found the flower designs I wanted created a template out of paper traced around it onto MDF board (you can use 3/8 or ½ thick). You can also free hand a design remember the sky is the limit to what you create. Use a skill saw and cut out your design clean off the edges and remove any excess saw dust.
The first thing you will need to do is lay out the shape of your pathgarden hose works great for this. Tip: gently curved lines are usually more visually appealing than angular or straight lines. Once you have decided the shape and length of your path use the sod cutter to cut along the edges of your path to define the outer lines.
