These stones can be used anywhere that could use a little color. Pick out the size and shape stone you like and one that fits your area the best. Remember you can put these little jewels in your garden areas as well. I suggest you use the concrete colored stones it is easier to cover with the paint. The first step is to use an exterior primer to seal the stone. Very important note seal only the top of the stone do not seal the entire stone. It needs a place for the moisture to come out. If you seal the bottom it will crack.
From their original use as a functional yet decorative way to delineate a path through ornamental gardens stepping stones are now considered a part of the garden. Commercially there are almost endless themes available to suit any taste or interest come in a variety of shapes and sizes even 3 dimensional. There is also the option of making your own garden stepping stones for an even more personal touch. There are ready made molds available or you can almost any container you may have that is the right size and shape for what you wish to make; just make sure the container is the same size or smaller at the bottom or you may never get your completed treasure out.
Another feature of a lighted stepping stone is the added sense of security. When people go away on vacation they can feel safer knowing the stepping stone will be turned on to signify that someone may be home even when they are not. This will also allow people to have some light when they return home at night. A lighted solar stepping stone has many purposes in addition to looking attractive. The bulbs inside do not need to be changed often and the stones can capture enough energy to last a few nights even if the sun did not come out that day.
