The first option can be used to enhance an old fence added to the outside of your house or even as a free standing piece of artwork. Here is where it gets fun and creative you can make anything that you love. I personally love flowers and on my deck is a flower garden with some of them as tall as seven feet. I found the flower designs I wanted created a template out of paper traced around it onto MDF board (you can use 3/8 or ½ thick). You can also free hand a design remember the sky is the limit to what you create. Use a skill saw and cut out your design clean off the edges and remove any excess saw dust.
There however is an easy way out. Just make your own garden concrete products at home. Yes dont be alarmed. It is a great way to get your kind of concrete products without spending much. Making your own stepping stones can be a great hobby and you can even get your kids involved and have a great time with them. Your molds will be used to shape the stone according to your style and design in mind. And you can produce as much as you like and all the while knowing that you can always ad to your existing paving or stepping stone areas. Also your stone or paving range will never be discontinued as you own the paving molds or stepping stone concrete molds.
When using shaped objects (such as pebbles) where you dont want them buried in the concrete but would like an even surface after placing them on top of the stone cover with a piece of wood larger than the stone and press evenly. It may take a few tries to figure out the right pressure but the professional look will add to its attractiveness. Besides pathways your garden stepping stones can be used as points for a sundial to ring a tree as wall or raised bed decorations even tabletops or to line small pools and fountains.
